Maenad - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In summer 2009 in the second season of HBO's series "True Blood," the character Maryann is a maenad. See http://www.tvguide.com/News/True-Blood-Forbes-1007953.aspx (from Wikipedia)

Back in June I posted this link, I think Michelle is just about the greatest actress around!
Of course she has been in Battlestar!
And Star Trek

Thanks for posting the info back in June. It explains the nature of Mary Ann's character. I was familiar with the Roman version of the rites honoring Bacchus, the god of wine.

Things are heating up! The attempted ambush at the airport, the interrogation, Sookie's kindred spirit ...

I'm over maryann ... seriously, enough of the shaking and dirt eating already! Let's move on!

clicked into the on demand feature to watch the very end of this past episode to see what happened again..when maryann goes all "shakey" and everyone else goes all crazy! her hands did change into the claws. I was fairly certain she was the creature that attacked sookie, but that confirmed it.

Yeah that party reminded me of a certain scene in the Ten Commandments -- shown in this parody:
