Sorry but Shawn looks fat to me. Its either that or way to much muscle.
Well, I hate to go anywhere near criticizing females over their body shape. A friend of mine was on college scholarship for swimming and her body is freakish, even 10+ years after her sports days were over. Her shoulders are massive and she is very limited on the things she can wear. Shawn Johnson was probably never "willowy" but I'll bet you couldn't pinch an inch of fat (or skin) if you tried. She has spent her entire life in the gym, training for the Olympics. She probably wasn't ever thin to begin with and her training made her body even more solid, but fat she is not.

I too was shocked that Shawn won. Personally, I thought it should have been #1 Gilles, #2 Melissa and #3 Lil Kim. I think Shawn did a very respectable job on the dance floor, but she only started to improve in the last two weeks. I don't feel that Shawn's dances in the first 11 weeks of the show were all that memorable and she just didn't have enough pizzazz.
I am sooooo happy that Shawn one. USA!! USA!! USA!! Gilles is from where? Mexico? Melissa is from Texas so its not really USA.
Gilles lost because his freestyle dance was terrible.
Melissa lost because her hip hop freestyle was terrible. She probably begged Dovolani to do hip hop (which isnt his strength) because she thought its the most popular dance. She's obviously ballet trained with her feet/knees which doesnt lend itself well for any hip hop, plus the crazy religious Texas folks where probably hoping she'd do a country dance so they withheld their votes for her.

BTW, Gilles is from France and Melissa was a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader (what's more American than that?)....but they weren't being judged on the most "American" dancer but the "best". Shawn was NOWHERE near the best.

Nor could she enunciate. Every time she spoke it was like a little whiny sound. Maybe it's because she's young and she'll grow out if it, but I've taught my kids to enunciate, speak clearly and loud enough that people don't have to kep asking "what?"
