On the CA EDD claim form, I made a mistake where I marked yes accidentally on one of the questions (if i worked that specific week), when it should have been "no."

Can i go ahead and white it out? Will this mistake delay, or even warrant a telephone interview? I filled in the correct answer, even going as far as circling it and finally placing my initials to verify the answer.

Please help before I mail out the form!

Thanks!

Simply whiting out the incorrect box is usually sufficient but, in your case, the additional markings that you made may be a problem for the reader. I guess that I'd white out all of it and hope for the best.

I agree. Claim forms are read by computer. As long as there's nothing "unusual" about it, it will probably go through. You don't want to draw any attention to anything "different" if it was simply a mistake.

I white out mistakes on mine, and have never had a problem.

OMG! Just read the replies. My last claim form was messed up and now my claim is 'on hold'. I received the standard reply "your claim form is incorrect/incomplete" and now my benes are held up. AH! Does anyone know the remedy for this? or what happens next? I simply cannot get thru on their 800#. ANY help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Call EDD up and you can do the continued claim form over the phone. Keep calling no matter what. The EDD rep will input what is needed and direct it over to a supervisor to be cleared before you are paid. It should only take a couple days for it to be cleared.

I'm so confused...I hope someone can tell if I screwed up or not. I CANNOT get through to EDD. I was laid off from my job on 9/13 after 13 years. I filed on line when I got home on 9/13. About a week later they sent me the claim form...the dates were 9/8 to 9/14. It asked of I worked during that week...which I had. I report my earrings on my last paycheck. There were 14 in my department that all filed on 9/13. I am the only one that got a claim form for the week of 9/8. My ex co-workers started the week after. They have all gotten their debit card except for me. I managed to get someone on the phone today but I called the Vietnamese number. She was hard to understand....she said that I made too much for the week of 9/8-9/13. I told her that my last day was 9/13. I asked her when I would get my debit card....she said I wouldn't. I made too much!! How is that possible?? I did what I thought was right. I am beyond frustrated!! I reported what they asked me and I feel like I shouldn't have! Does any of this make sense? Am I not going to get my benefits? I've spent a week trying to figure this out but I can't anyone on the phone. I'm desperate.

Go to a local one-stop Monday morning. Those offices have phone banks. You can get through to a rep using those to get your claim on track.

Or start dialing Monday a.m., using these:
