Was looking over my claim info because I wanted to see if I was close to my one year mark and I noticed it said I only had about 2 1/2 weeks of pay left.

This must be the end of my tier 1 I think.

Had my reg weeks, then I got tier 1 when that extension happened. I had to call in when they passed that extension, but that's because I didn't even qualify for extension before the bill was passed.

So I'm wondering if I have to make a claim to get tier 2 or if it just autoupdates and I keep filing as normal.

Depends on your state, but most states just transition you to the next tier provided you fall within the eligibility date. Eligibility for next tier expires November 20 (tier 1) or November 27 (tiers 2, 3, 4). Since you have two weeks' benefits left, you should move to the next tier seamlessly. If you don't, obviously call your unemployment office.

My claim ends 8/25/13. I received a letter saying I am eligible to 14 weeks of tier 2 and says I must file a claim either online or by phone. Do I have to file a claim as the same as when I first started to collect and do I have to wait til after 8/25/13 to file a new claim will they hold back 1 week of waiting like they did when I first started to collect.

Your state?

Have you worked while collecting benefits?
