I don't think the world is going to end, but....I find it interesting that the prediction is, I believe anyway, that it will be at the hands, or on the watch of a very powerful, soft spoken man of middle eastern decent. Could it be Obama? Even if he isn't middle eastern decent, with his name it could have looked that way to the one predicting. Interesting.

Well you see the world would end as predicted predicted by the Mayans if not for one thing: I am actually writing this from an underground hatch. You see, I press a button every 108 minutes which keeps the world from ending. And what credit do I get for this? None.
You are just Lost. I've had a vision that you are part of an experiment. You can stop pressing the button and nothing will happen.

So says you. I have a feeling you don't have my best interests at heart. Next you'll be saying that the outside isn't contaminated.
Anyways, whatever happens in 2012, I'll see you in another life brother.
Can somebody help me out here? This have been bugging me for some time now. Do you think the world is going to end at December 1?, 2012? What are your opinions on that day?
That day does not exist anywhere in the universe except here on earth. Can you understand that we created our reality? Time does not exist. It cannot be proven. It is a construct of human reality based on what we see around us. Everything in our entire reality is a rationalization of what we see to make sense out of our own insecurities. There is nothing wrong with that; we will continue to grow and learn more. Our perception of reality will continue to grow just like a child who first sees their hands, then their parents, then their home, their neighborhood, school zone, county, city, etc. ad infinitum as regards an individual's capacity.
The world was supposed to end twice already in my lifetime. Hey, where am I? Listen. Relax. Enjoy yourself. Paint a picture. Catch a fish. Build a log cabin. Do something that will add to life, not detract from it. You could be killed by drunk driver who veers off the road and crashes through your house at 3am in the morning as visions of something go through your mind. Don't worry about the end. Live for today and do us all a favor - be good.

I haven't read all of the posts on here so I might be repeating someone else .If I am sorry about that.
My answer is this. December 21 2012 marks the end of the great cycle of the Mayan Calender. I think this cycle spans 5000 years or so but don't quote me on that. People for some unknown reason have decided that that means the world will end on this date. What it does mean is that the cycle ends and that's it, a new one will begin. Same as December 31 marks the end of our calender. It doesn't mean the world will end after new years eve it just means a new year will begin.
