Nobody says it's aliens, just a unidentified flying object. (edit) alright some people do, but I don't
UFOs DO exist, and while most are explainable some are not, are clearly not standard natural phenomenon and STILL exist nevertheless.
Saying they are alien spacecraft is still just a guess.
So is saying it is a "flying object" as most may not be an object, but a light, source unknown. Reflection, light refraction, something similar to sprites or some yet unknown type of electrical discharge.
Maybe it's mini-wormholes opening and closing ........................
But since I love to play both sides of this argument, here's some pretty good (though not conclusive) evidence of a hoax with the Jerusalem UFO footage:
From what I've found, this UFO was not a hoax. However, there was a hoax video uploaded immediately after the real videos surfaced in order to debunk the real footage. It is a similar tactic as the flare drop diversion after the Phoenix lights sighting. Creating a faux positive is part of the game when it comes to Debunking101. "See folks, nothing here but a fake video".
That said, the media for the most part is controlled (by who is another topic itself). That's why MANY of the topics reported by regular folks on youtube are topics rarely covered by the mainstream media. It is not because regular folks are "less credible"; it's because the mainstream has to have "approval" before certain things can be aired. When it comes to the truth about our economy, our religions, and ET visitors; the mainstream media is NOT the best source. One would think that most folks would've figured this out by now, but many still demand that their truth comes from "credible media sources" before they buy into an idea.

They could be leprochauns flying through the sky on silver dishes and powered a match and their alcohol-loaded flatulence.

That is a possiblity... In a world where information is instantly accessible everywhere and cannot be hidden for long, your only way to hide something is to surround it with a huge stinking pile of B.S.

EXACTLY. However, the pile of BS is not as large as most would think (such a task is too costly). Instead, much of the BS are just a hand-full of flat out lies that are well told.
Here is a perfect example from the link you provided:
"If it is an extraterrestrial spacecraft, it is a very small one," Ben told me via email when commenting on the possible origin of the "UFO." "Judging by the size and distance of the dome it apparently hovers over, it would likely be not much bigger than a limousine. This doesn't mean it's not a spaceship, but it does make you wonder." OK, so if this is a real UFO and it's being driven by ET, they might just be very small aliens. Why would they need a big spacecraft? Jerusalem UFO 'Almost Certainly a Hoax' : Discovery News
The statement above totally ignores the fact that this probe-like object came down from and returned up to a MUCH larger object hovering over the city that night. The much larger object can't be seen, but it's red lights can be seen in the following video.
There have been few mentions of the larger object seen above (only talk about the smaller probe-like object). Retired military witnesses have come forward describing very similar probe-like objects zooming in and out of sight while they (the objects) were somehow shutting down our nuclear weapons. It doesn't take much smarts to put two and two together here. This video (real or not) fully corroborates what credible UFO witnesses have told us. So, even if this was a fake, it is certainly reality based (which is something that the debunkers will never admit). Spreading misinformation about the topic of UFOs in general are what these debunkers are paid (YES; they are funded) to do.
I watched the video. Many of those things appeared to be some object entering the atmosphere. It's not possible to tell what the object is, but I'd think space junk falling out of its orbit or meteors would make more sense than aliens. Another of them looked exactly like a night rocket launch with the footage turned upside down. I admit the Norway spiral was particularly interesting, so I googled for it and found that was a Russian ballistic missile test with a bad third stage that caused it to spin out of control. There were a couple more I found interesting but didn't bother to try to debunk.
I didn't read the entire thread, but if you remember a while back the picture of a human face (from the original picture) on, I think Mars or something, turned out to be a pile of rocks after they took more recent photos of the planet. Could it be that these pics were taken in the 70's that the resolution wasn't the best giving us a false picture. Also NASA isn't the only people in the world with a telescope and a camera, so saying that NASA is covering something up would seem a little unrealistic when I'm guessing most people could view it for them selves
Here's a dramatization of another infamous UFO flap that is well documented, with reliable (Law Enforcement) witnesses from 1994:
An LEO is still a human being with normal eyes and is also subject to all of the frailties of any witness. The "eye witness" has been proven time and time again to be grossly inaccurate.
As for the credibility of a LEO as a witness, it would eliminate only the doubt of them deliberately lying, but does not mean that what they "think they saw" is any more reliable than what the average man on the street "thinks they saw".
The proven flaw is not the occupation, but the fact that human mind can play tricks, and memories can be false, even thought the individual firmly believes they are depicting an accurate description of what they "think they saw".
