Oh I don't know....

Things would vary by remaining states that still have capital punishment laws on their books, but off top of my head Lucy Letby would likely have faced such charges in Florida or Texas.

I just find the whole thing to be extremely sad, and there needs to be a proper inquiry in relation to Hospital Consultant's concerns being disregarded in relation to Letby.
Not bloody likely; the Letby woman is most surely going to HMP Low Newton: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...-b2396624.html

Other real crime that wants investigating is how mangers and other officials at trust totally disregarded obvious warning signs. This allowed the Letby woman to continue her spree of murdering and harming infants far longer than should have otherwise happened.

"Munchaussen by proxy syndrome." What a mouthful!
Just read that Allitt barely passed nursing school. None of the hospital adult wards would take her, except for the understaffed pediatric ward. And she whipped up a horrifying spike of emergency incidents in just over a 59-day period.

Letby graduated from the University of Chesterin 2011. With over 10 years nursing experience, what could have gone so wrong?

Colin Norris was another who barely made it out of nursing school and from start clearly never should have been allowed anywhere near patients.

One common thread in all nurses who murder is a higher than average incidence rate of deaths or injuries to patients when they are on duty than not.

Pattern fits numerous serial killer nurses including Charles Cullen.

Get the managers in court who refused to do a thing when doctors reported what was happening.... seems the stigma on the hospital and the managers high wages played a bigger part... This could have saved four of the children being murdered and others left in wheel chairs for life...

Prisoners can be moved from the prison estate to the high security hospital estate, and there have been numerous cases/

Just because she starting her sentence at HMP Low Newton, which is right next door to high security Men's prison HMP Frankland near Durham, dos not mean that she will not be transferred to a high security hospital in the future.

Not that it really matters, as Letby will never be released, whilst High Security Hospitals still have prison officers (guards), and there are still cells, with the main difference relating to the greater provision of mental health professionals.

Those transferred between high security prisons and high security hospitals include the likes of Ian Brady (Moor's Murderer), Peter Sutcliffe (Yorkshire Ripper), Michael Adebowale (Lee Rigby killer), Ronnie Kray (Gangster), Michael Peterson (Charlie Bronson), Robert Maudsley (Murderer) etc etc.

Sometimes individuals are even transferred back to the High Security Prison Estate, so starting your sentence in a High Security Prison does not mean you won't be transferred to a High Security Hospital on the direction of Mental Health experts or that you won't be later diagnosed with a mental health condition or even officially declared insane.

There are four High Security Hospitals, three in England in respect of Broadmoor, Ashworth and Rampton, whilst in Scotland there is the State Hospital at Carstairs.

Alarm bells were going off about her in 2015, but clinicians were ignored. As in the USA, in the UK, hospital administrators are not required to be licensed and accountability is lacking. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-66578698
