Living next to the train station wasn't horrible. It was weird how it almost didn't exist. Neighbors and management weren't the greatest. But, I'd take that apartment any day of the week over the one I'm currently in. Texas tenant rights are few and far between. Anyhow, that is another thread for another forum haha!

I used to live on Davidson Lane, in the old ranch house behind the Simi Country Estates Mobile Home Park. I loved the sound of the train going by at night. Yeah, weird, I know, but there ya go!

Tipps Thai restaurant, Ferraro's, and Dargan's Irish pub are 3 very good restaurants that I've eaten in Ventura. I heard Old Vienna is suppose to be good too and look forward to trying it soon.

Home Town Buffet is top of the list for me. Granted, it isn't fancy, but I love having such a large variety to choose from, plus I can "mix & match." Sometimes I just want a few side dishes so it isn't uncommon for me to load up a plate with mashed potatoes w/gravy and mac-n-cheese

Hey, if you'd been subjected to 8 years of British food even deep fried muskrat would taste good!

My husband's first visit to Hometown Buffet was actually quite amusing. He wanted to use the bathroom to wash his hands before eating so he asked a young Mexican woman who was obviously an employee. He said "Excuse me, Luv, could you tell me where the bathroom is?" She looked at him in confusion and then pointed to the food in the service island and said "Enchiladas?" "No," he said, "BATHROOM"! She again looked confused, pointed at some food and said "Arroz?" Finally I said "Bano?" and she knew what he was looking for, LOL!
