So basically to me if it takes 36hrs for only 4-8" that means MOST of the time it will be lightly falling which doesn't affect travel as much as it being a heavy snowfall.

However... Sunday night rates will increase but to find the spot is tough right now. So there will be periods it's coming down hard. Just not for a long time or widespread areas.

Was nice today.. been watching the wicked changes since this morning. Areas went from 60s to 30s and snow this afternoon in PA. Front comes through at night for us so wont be as drastic since temps will have cooled down a bit.

Its snowing in West Virginia right now.

6:24am map...

How often do we see this...in November.. Raining in Montreal and Vermont while snowing in West Virginia and Southern NY.

Don't worry Vermont, heads up as the cold air rushes in, that rain is about to change to snow soon.

I had over 1/2" of rain then 1/2" of heavy wet snow.

Just north of me getting 3"+

Snowed for awhile here then stopped or shifted to rain. Higher elevations seem to be doing well with white stuff, no accumulation here anymore. For now!

Thanks for the update. Without getting too technical... there's a storm over Western Maine now but there's a Vortex over our heads (not the Polar Vortex). Basically a spinning storm at the Upper levels called the Upper Low.

When an Upper Low is around it always causes instability which means on off snow/rain showers. It also means the hills get to produce a ton of snow.

As you said, the higher elevations are getting hammered from CT to VT. You can see this with the North South line of snow just constantly redeveloping in same spots.

Awesome stuff.

Last 4 hours loop

Looks like we're in an active period.

Thursday, Saturday, Tuesday, Friday more storms. Keep on top of your forecasts.

I think this Friday night into Saturday is rain.

Maybe bigger snow event Tuesday

Maybe another snow event Friday the 1st
