National Hurricane Centers, River Hydrologists, Mosquito control, drought monitoring, NWS all use CoCoRaHS reports to help them.

I started a thread on it, someone in Louisiana started reporting with them since summer.
Maybe the thread can help with some info but contact the coordinator to get started to report daily rain and snow totals 6-8am everyday

It is actually snowing here in Bratt, has been since at least 1 p.m. !
I'm very surprised, as forecast said rain-kept expecting the snow to stop, yet it hasn't (almost 6 p.m.).
Measured on my fire escape handrail-1.5 inches of wet fluffy accumulation.
Photos taken btw. 4:30 and 5 today.
