No, we don't hate Marylanders. It's not Marylanders, it's all the Northern invaders that stayed and continue to invade. The same thing is happening in Virginia. The invaders ran out of room in Maryland and, like a swarm of locusts, have swept into Virginia. May God save us!

Hey, reconstruction was 150 years ago. The carpet-bagger is now your friend.

I have lived in this area my whole life, in DC, MD and VA, and no - Virginians do not hate Marylanders. I don't even know why anyone would think of this question.

I've lived on both sides. Most of my time was spent on the Virginia side and about 8 years on the Maryland side. Worked in the District for about 10 years. I see no difference....until you hit Baltimore City. Baltimore City is NOT like any other part of Maryland (DC suburbs, including Columbia) and it surely is not like Northern Virginia or any other part of Virginia. If anyone has a negative experience with a Marylander or doesn't like a Marylander...more than likely, they came from Baltimore City or near it. Baltimore City is pretty much like Detroit....ABsolutely useless.

looks like we found a winner.

how can you actually compare b'more to detroit? The only similarities I see are a relatively high crime rate (and Detroits is siginificantly higher). That said Baltimore is a much more enriching city to live in, if you live in the right neighborhoods, undergoing gentrification (unlike detroit), has a stabilized population (unlike Detroit), a strong economy (unlike detroit), and looking forward has a much better outlook. Wonder what you think of DC?

I love DC. I lived near DC for a number of years and had no problems. I lived north of Baltimore City for a number of years and it was one headache after another. Yes, I agree if you get down to a detailed comparison....Baltimore City is better than Detroit. But I will never live near Baltimore City again. East side (badlands) needs some serious gentrification....Go JHU-Hospital! They can't buy up the area fast enough. I'm sorry for all those that are being displaced by this but enough is enough. The entire city is being dragged down by those bad neighborhoods.

Not really . . . even with all of its problems. Take a look at "America's Most Miserable Cities." Gee, look who's #1 (Detroit). And look at who is NOT even on the list (Baltimore):

That's funny.

I have lived in Virginia most of my life and most of my friends including people I work with aren't too fond of Marylanders.

I don't know which I hear more **** talking about Maryland or Pennsylvania.

Baltimore rocks! I love Federal Hill, Mount Vernon, Hampden, etc. In fact, there are lots of things about it that I like better than D.C. - for being a smaller city, it in many respects has a lot more character.
