I see alot of post about racism between yankies and southerns. If im coming from CA what am I? How will people treat me?

How is the job market?

How is the traffic? i hate traffic, so sick of Southern California traffic?

How is the weather? I am looking forward to some rain and thunderstorms, missing that in Southern California.

The DC area is very racially diverse and no one really cares where you come from because you have so many people here from so many different places.

The job market here is fantastic. In fact, we never really felt the great recession to the degree that so many other parts of the country did, thanks to the fact that this is where the Federal Gov. is and many of the industries that help support it.

The traffic here is horrible. Probably about as bad as SoCal.

The weather? We do get four seasons here. The Springs and Falls are great but imo too short. Winter can bring some snow and ice. Summers are hot and humid. If you miss rain and T storms you'll get your fix here.

Which part of SoCal you coming from? Like everywhere else, in NoVa There are huge differences in the population demographics, education levels, schools, etc depending on where you choose to live

Well its good that you have plenty of practice driving in heavy traffic. You'll see some storms and it will get cold in the winter. You'll be close to one of the worlds oldest mountain ranges, the Appalachians, plenty of forest. You'll also be on top of American history.

Beware of the rebels.

It's Manassas, Yankees and Southerners.

Not sure what you are reading but I am a southerner and have been here in Manassas since 73. I have never seen or heard of any issues between the two groups. I couldn't look at a person and tell whether they are from the north or south to save my life. Now when they talk, that's another thing.

If you live and work in Manassas the traffic is tolerable. If you have to commute towards DC at all it can suck.

We definitely have four seasons here although at times it seems winter can turn into summer with little spring and summer to winter without much fall but there are still four seasons.

You'll also get more responses if you post this in the Northern VA section.

Manassas is the Inland Empire of NoVA.
