To be honest, I'm disappointed in the state of MD. This state has literally become Las Vegas East overnight. I respect what the people of MD have voted for, and I respect their opinions but I think some of the reasoning behind passing these things don't make sense.

Question 4-Kind of confusing. These aren't just kids that are children of illegal immigrants. These are also children who were born in other countries too. I understand the need to help these individuals out, but without addressing how they will be able to obtain jobs once they finish their education, something doesn't make sense with this. I think a better solution would have been to expand naturalization and get them on the path way to becoming legal citizens.

Question 6-I think most already know my opinion on this but I will say that I think this isn't the civil issue that it was being created to be. Gays still have the right to have civil unions. The biggest issue here is the people of this state agreed to re-define what marriage is. What else will we re-define?

Question 7-Having a world class casino maybe nice, but as one of my acquaintances put it, somebody is still going to have to pay for the infrastructure to support the construction of this casino. Glad it won't be me.
Amnesty is coming so Question 4 will be moot soon, no biggie really although I voted against it.

Came down to PG county and I suspect Obama's stance changed the dynamic there which kept the margin close enough for it to pass in the state. It really is striking how far Blacks are willing to throw away their values on the orders of Obama. It's actually very scary.

I voted for 7 I'm under no illusions the schools won't see a dime, and the sites in B-more and PG especially will become magnets for crime. I figured I give them a shot to prove me wrong.

PG's casino will probably hold up better, National Harbor is too nice to become a giant slum.

Short and sweet because I too have discussed this all before: unless you're first willing to change the rights civil unions have and are given (to make it equal in all ways to marriage) then civil unions are not enough.

Civil unions, even between a man and a woman, do Not give couples the same state or federal rights as marriage does. Not even close.

I agree, but then my counter argument has been, what makes it okay for gays to get those rights and not other types of couples like incestuous people or polygamist? I'm just wondering what we are using to decide what is right or wrong.

Incestuous marriage already happens. There are multiple states where it's okay to marry your cousin. Some allow first cousin marriage.

Polygamy: as long as consent is given, I don't really see the big deal. If any man is insane enough to take on multiple wives, more power to him. I say that as a woman.

Having said all that, what bothers me about the above is it's the same dialog that's been used to exclude people from having various rights for years and years. It also veers into straw man while careening toward argumentum ad absurdum. Consensual, human coupled adults is my basic litmus test with heavy emphasis on consent.

What about siblings or parent-children?

And there are so people who support gay marriage but wouldn't agree with you. That is confusing to me.

If we would allow any adult to marry any adult, I would say we would end up in some scary situations. Gay people wouldn't be the only people that that idea would apply to.

Just move to Misssissippi. There's more of your ilk down there anyway. Just a word of warning, they still don't like us black folk that much, so if you get lynched, I mean that's on you bro.

I have 3 things I'd like to say:

1. If you don't like the passage of Question 6, then leave the state. Quit your bitching and move to Virginia or some other state that does't allow same-sex marriage; nobody cares what you have to say so get over yourself.

2. If you came here to demonize those folk who chose to vote against Question 6, then you too need to leave and move to Ultra PC Land. News flash, not everybody is going to agree with you. Get off your ****ing high-horse and come back to reality; nobody cares what you have to say.

3. Everytime we bring this up, it turns into a shouting match and nothing is accomplished. Nobody's opinion is changed and we all end up making this **** personal and I for one and sick of it. The law is passed, people are either happy or mad and the few of you who still want to talk about it please take it to PM because guess what....NOBODY CARES.

I hope all of you people on both sides put this much energy into other things, but I doubt it.
