Hi all,
My partner is about to start a new job in Linthicum Heights, whereas I'm working in DC. He will drive, I will do a combination of biking/metro or train.

We really like the area of downtown Hyattsville or nearby, as in the "real" Hyattsville. However, a lot of those houses don't have the floor plan that we like, so we have also branched out a bit (particularly to the east). Some of the places we look at are in Hyattsville but not really. For instance, today we were checking out Woodlawn Heights, which is probably a very different feel but potentially doable.

I'd love to hear any thoughts you might have on locations etc. Thank you so much!

Live as close as you can find/afford NEAR one of the two jobs ... and a MARC station.

Don't PLAN for both of you to have to commute... just one of you.
The other partner uses that time to do the day to day household tasks.

I think that's good advice and overall I want to prioritize his commute. However, 1) it's a huge change for me and I just don't know how much I can handle, and 2) we will overall be working different days, so there is some ability for us to pick up for each other on the days one of us goes in.
