Our accent is the sound, our dialect is the pronunciation/language, and our slang is our local Ebonics/street talk.

And "Jawnt" is something Baltimoreans say. Down here in the DMV, we say "Jont".
Tell me something that is distinctive about DC's AA Accent Besiders the "urrr" in the R, which is common throughout the Maryland region

This is why DC uses slang. ex- Moe , Bob, Slim, Choppin, Bet Etc

I've already gave you and other posters examples on our dialect other than "Urr" talk, especially in City vs. City. Next time have a better memory on lock Baltimoron.

My Man...Baltimore and DC are very different. I lived in the Bmore area for 5 years listening to yall's speech. You guys break up words and cut syllables short thats hard to explain. You can hear the drastic difference just by listening to 92Q vs 93.9 or when that dude Kels from Baltimore is on there.

People in DC don't have accents. It's the rest of America who mauls the language and its pronunciation.

There is no one Mid-Atlantic accent, as in a language dialect that is spoken widely from NY down to VA. There are big variances. Some parts of the Mid-Atlantic have more of a "Chicago" (Inland North American) dialect. Other parts have a Southern accent. The Mid-Atlantic doesn't have ONE accent.

DC is not in the same language family that Philly and Baltimore are. DC straddles between South Midland and Southern. Philly and Baltimore are in the South Midland family. By South Midland I mean Midland dialects bordering on Southern, as Baltimore is at the Southern edge of the Midland family, but it doesn't straddle the non-rhotic, fully Southern pronunciation heard in places like Norfolk.
