You mean, where do you stand on the current state of the DC Metro System and its service? Right?
If I asked you what your position on crime is.. would you think it was sexual innuendo? This is just one of those instances where you either have common sense or you don't lol.
I think that while Metro certainly has some issues, that it meets my needs pretty well about 90% of the time. I ride the Orange line most every business day from EFC to Farragut West, and in the morning, the trains typically come about every 3 to 5 minutes; my ride in is a pretty predictable 20 minutes (more or less), and I nearly always get a seat when I ride into the city. Coming home, the not difference is that I frequently have to stand while riding, and it is pretty common for the trains to be bordering on being over crowded. Having said that, as my primary means of transportation to and from work, it does the job reasonably well. I feel we are pretty lucky to have the stem in the DC area....cat imagine how it would be commuting without it.
Make Metro Parking free. Great idea! But what will you do when parking garages that are already full become overrun?? You can't build seas of parking garages -- even in the burbs there's not enough room. Also, you are missing the fact that they are trying to incentivize people to get on the bus and get out of their car.
Who the hell is calculating their fare every single trip? First off, I think most people just put an even number on like $5 or $10. Second off, most people are commuting to the same places everyday so they should have the fare memorized by now. Third off, Metro is helping the poor by having peak fares because they are much less likely to be riding during those times while Metro collects millions from the government and large corporations that give benefits to keep the non-peak fare lower.
And it should go without saying that Metro is actually one of the smoother subways as Chriz Brown said. You think Metro is rough? Try riding London's subway line from the 1860s.

Looks to me like there is plenty of room for more parking garages around several end stations.
