We're thinking about moving to Seattle from midValley (reason for the Oregon Trail-The Great Migration) Oregon. Seattle is 200miles north of us.
We are actually wetter and cloudier than Seattle. 45inches vs 36. It is also hotter and colder and cloudier and windier. What's not to like?

Chilly and wet? Washington is where some people from my state move to experience the relatively warm, sunny and dry conditions.

OP, where are you from-LA? PNW may be a tough adjustment. For me, it's a nice climate.

After living in the south end area of King county and driving in that traffic...NO!
Like I said I now live on the Peninsula and the only time I travel to the Seattle area is the ferry (walk on) to go to sporting events.
What I really hate is Seattle and California drivers bringing their driving habits to our roads on the Peninsula..

You must work in an office building in downtown Seattle. You should consider moving to San Diego or Phoenix.

I moved to the San Juan Islands from SLC. Out here we have about half the rain of Seattle, but it also about double the rain of SLC.

This past winter didn't bother me at all as far as weather went. I'll gladly take 2x to 4x more rain in exchange for little snow, little freezing, and no smoggy inversions.

I have been amazed at how early the sun goes down in the winter and how early it rises in the summer.

The island life is a world apart, that's for sure. However, I recall several summers when I was a kid that were very rainy. I supposed that's history now that climate change has settled on a pattern of dry (too dry) summers in the Puget Sound region.
