Very quiet outside right now, but here's an important forecast from Cliff Mass is for not just one but several storm systems coming in the next several days that will bring very high winds wherever they come ashore.
November 02, 2021

A Very Stormy November Ahead

For the Northwest, November is the stormiest month of the year by almost every measure.

A month in which strong low-pressure areas or midlatitude cyclones move off the Pacific Ocean towards our region.
The next week is going to be extraordinarily active and it will be a miracle if western Washington or western Oregon escapes one of the big blows.

It was “so so” ok yesterday.
50 degrees on off drizzle and the wind was mild until late afternoon here.

I spent most of the day hiking so I was to burnt out to bbq on a windy wet deck.
My chicken wing experiment will have to wait a day or so.

Spent most of my morning scouting the River for fishing holes.
Landed smack down on my butt once.
Should have had waders .

The weather changes when you go up the river.
That didn’t stop people from catching nice salmon limits though.
Pretty nice area and the fisherman were nicely spread out.
Non of this shoulder to shoulder nonsense.

Even though the weather was “so so” the river scouting trip was a good time and I consider it a win.

Sorry no pics and no river name .

Weather today so far is overcast... very still, grey stratus. No rain, no wind.

The 10 day forecast is not yet warning of the coming wind events Cliff noted in my post above. You will see that our winter forecasts make a distinction between showers, light rain, and rain.

I would believe Cliff, before I rely on the forecast below, at least in terms of wind.

Since there’s already an extensive weather thread for the Seattle metro with over five thousand posts, this is for weather in the rest of the state only?

I think it is for anyone in Washington who wants to regularly participate in it. A thread in the Seattle subforum is typically limited to Seattle. Threads out here aren't exactly limited in that way.

By the way it’s wet today. Not windy or stormy yet but it’s been lightly raining all day.

Update at 5:15… Suddenly the sky is cleared! See second pic! And I got photo-bombed by a hummingbird when I was taking the picture :-)

Odd day so far.
It was raining sideways and 40 degrees this morning a little after 7:00 am.
That stopped a bit after sunrise.
It’s 50 degrees now at 1:15 pm and the sun has continuously poked through the clouds off and on this last few hours.
Not sure what the rest of the day will bring .
I really want an outside covered kitchen area for days like this.

It’s very changeable here. If you don’t like the weather just wait 15 minutes :-)
