I believe you are correct, she was refering to the heat index, either way it doesn't matter 95 or 105 it feels hot and add the humidity and phew no thank you at all!

Heat index in SW FL was nasty all week. Today has been a little more tolerable, though. Right now it is 96 & Weather Channel says it feels like 104.
The humidty is just at around 50% which is why I probably find it ok. Earlier in the week it was around 68% with a heat index of 105...gross, gross, gross.

In my high school & college days I couldn't get enough of the sun & heat. Now, I stay in the shade & envy 70 degree weather I am a northern girl who can't wait to finally go back & stay. Give me some variety in weather

I believe Atlanta, GA had the hottest weather this week with heat indexes of around 110-112!!

It has been in the 90s for the past week in NYC. Actually one day it was hotter there than here in Naples.

HOWEVER, my daughter called me to say it was 66 this morning in Queens. She said it was WONDERFUL (her words). She said it felt good to put the quilt on at night. High today about 80. That is the nice thing. After a week of sweltering, it usually breaks and you can get nice, comfortable temps (60s/70s) even in the dog days of August.

Knoxville, Tennessee reporting in.

We had a heat index of at least 103 a couple of days this past week. Didn't bother me. After living in Florida, I impervious to the heat. I just know enough to stay out of it, or take it in small doses. HOWEVER, the air pollution here, coupled with the extreme drought has made it difficult to breathe.

It's better today. Right now it is 93 degrees but the humidity is 33 percent. I actually did a bit of gardening today, out on my back deck.

My mom says it got into the 50s last night in Massachusetts. It gets too cold, too soon in New England, for me.

Max summer highs are in the low to mid 80's in the Colorado mountains here. Humidity in the 20's. Pretty much sunny everyday till about 2pm -- thunderstorms move in for a few hours and then it clears up again.

Default Give me cold anyday

Here in south central Virginia/near Danville, from Monday to Thursday was terrible. It was actually much hotter at 7 pm than at noon. Temps got up to 103 here, and the low only got to 78, coupled with NO WIND and high humidity. The average daytime temp for those 4 days was probably 92 taking the high and low/avg.

Today was a break, it only got up to 90, and for the better part of the day around 87 ,coupled with nice breezes.

However, it is so dry, we have not had any rains in this vicinity in weeks. The ground reflects so much of the heat when it gets like that. Fields are turning brown. I can stand the heat, if there is rain, but to go for weeks without rain and long term high heat...well

I think I would take Alaska..was there last July at Denali, one morning it was 47f!
