Dawn and dusk last longer at higher latitudes. Astro dawn starts at 4:48 am here, ends at 7:17 pm. Light till 6 pm now, but with the sleet storm it looked dark at sunset yesterday.
^^ Thats true. In Longyearbyen tomorrow night the astro twilight lasts the entire night but the daylength is only 8.5h
In Alert Canada mid Feb and late oct is the period when the astro twilight lasts the entire night but the sun doesn't rise
In the pole twilight can lasts for months. Currently the sun declination is -7° = near the start of civil dawn in 2-3 days in the North Pole, and the right ascencion of the sun is just before entering the last hour (currently around 344°). When both the declination and right ascencion of the sun equals 0, it called march equinox. (10:45 pm UTC, Friday, 20th March 2015)

It's gonna be a long, long time before I see the "6" handle for the sunrise time again.
