It may still be chilly and grey outside for the next week or so, but at least nothing can stop the daylight from coming back. We could definitely do with putting the clocks forward a bit sooner than the last weekend in March here, we're gaining 18 minutes a week in the mornings (but only 13 minutes in the evenings) anyway so they wouldn't stay relatively dark for long.
Never experienced a sun angle that high. Highest I've experienced is probably around 73°. Can you notice the difference between 73° and perpendicular? Strength is proportional to sine of the angle, which is only 5% lower than strength at perpendicular.
Do you agree sun strength is proportional to sine is correct? I didn't check that just went by memory.
