It's irritating to be so near, yet so far from the kind of summer twilight you get. When the conditions are right we do get a few nights when you can legitimately say it doesn't get completely dark, but we don't quite get nautical twilight lasting all night even at the solstice - it's certainly nothing like some of the pictures you've posted.
You must get more than two months with better twilights than the best my latitude has to offer even though you're probably only about 700 km further north - no more than a full day's drive.
Tomorrow, 16 May:
Sunrise: 05:04
Sunset: 21:07
16 hours, 3 minutes
Funny, I'm looking at Baba_Wethu's posts and thinking the same. But then if I lived at his latitude I'd want the full Arctic polar day experience.
I wouldn't want to give up the 50+° summer sun angles though, I like that the light gets a bit blue and harsh in the summer here. In the Arctic it's this weak yellow light year round which would get boring.

Same here. Having the sun angle at least approach 55 degrees is pretty pleasant after all. There's more than enough daylight to make me happy regardless! At least we get some of it back in winter

Yeah, I definitely think the high 50s latitudes are the sweet spot if we're just considering light. Any further north and the winters get too dark for too long and the summer sun (especially late summer) too weak to be worth much.
It must be pretty sad to go through one of their long winters and then the August sun is already too weak to properly feel like summer.

The ultimate sweet spot is Hudiksvall at 61N, granted a bit lower sun angle, but also a lower sunburn risk, 22C summer highs, moderate winters and mild autumns
According to my calculations Hudiksvall has an average sun angle of 21.1 degrees at the solstice (peak angle divided by two adjusted for daylight hours). Leeds has 21.2 (!) So looking at aggregate sun angle over the course of a day there's incredibly little difference... Nyköping has 20.9 degrees by the same measurement. Umeå is 21.5 though

50's are the sweet spot but the Twilight sucks for sleeping.
