Don't keep your hopes up, i really wish our winters were just slightly colder it would make BIG difference.
The thing what's annoying is that we're gonna have cold temperatures but no big snowfalls it just a waste of time and cold.
Also if that wet and windy crap was more wet with really torrential rain insted of that light drizzle moderate steady rain crap it would be better... But we can only imagine

Yes, we get loads of days with cold rain, if only our average highs for 3c colder then that would do.
Since, it is under high pressure we aren't going to get very much snow, so to have a wintery feel i'd prefer a frost to stay and for that to happen we need Ice Days, the frost will just melt if it goes above 2c.

That would give me an average high of 3c.
We would get loads of snow with that.
That would make London high around 4C and a low of -1C still get rain but snow would occur MUCH easily maybe on a weekly basis. And you would get your ice days. I think if our winters were like the Highlands of Britain i'd would be happy...
