definitely sad. left work today (in tx), and it was in the 70s. while that should be a pleasant temp, it gives me shivers because it makes me feel like our awful summers are almost here. the last one was terrible. i need to move to minnesota (wishful thinking!).
Just got around to reading this. Thanks for posting! I love reading his blogs.
He said exactly what I brought up. Some people dont understand snow is beneficial in some ways.
"If we don't get significant snows during the latter part of winter, the odds of a damaging drought during the summer in the Midwest will rise. The soils will dry out much earlier than usual without a deep snow pack to protect them, resulting in a much earlier onset of summer-like soil dryness. Water availability may also be a problem in some regions of the west due to the lack of snow melt. Fortunately, most Western U.S. reservoirs are above average in water supply, due to the record-breaking snows of the previous winter."
Been dry and hot in Florida so far. At least the fleas and old people are enjoying it.
Fleas & the old folks love hot & dry weather. Fl does get alot of rain annually but not so much in the winter compared to summer. I have a neighbor from fl. She said the summers were brutal.
My snowboarding trip got canceled again this weekend! I just got a new board too.
