A lot of trees here are already green or mostly green. Plenty of flowers growing too.
Lucky. We have some flowers and small buds with some tiny green leaves but growth seems to have stalled after the heat wave ended. We keep getting frosts, too. Next week looks like it should be better, finally.
If March had only 30 days this March would have been the warmest AND the driest on record.
But of course today (the 31st) had to ruin both of those chances.
Edit: We actually did manage to make the warmest on record, it was Central Park that ended up with the 2nd warmest on record. Still one of the top driest despite the fact that we went out with an almost hour long torrential downpour.
Spring has slowed down here too, I bet we'll see significant progress this week though, the buds are pretty large. Some trees already have leaves.

Ha. If it doesn't slow down across much of the Eastern U.S. vegetation will go into its summer state.

In the midst of all of the heat and warmth that pervades North America, that is a beautiful sight. Thanks for posting it.

No, it's not normal for Spring in South Florida, but temperatures well into the 90's Fahrenheit have been known to occur. Those 100+ readings would be approaching all-time record high territory should they verify. I hope they don't, and I hope the whole map doesn't verify because aside from Florida the entirety of that map looks awful.

Plants? Buds? Bah, humbug. Death to the buds! Bring on the snow!
I have some bulbs starting to send up shoots in a spot right by the front door where the snow melted back early. Daffodils, I think. We're right at the tipping point where my sadness at the end of winter turns into excitement for the coming summer. My driveway is snow free, plants are starting to show up, and I'm starting some seeds for the garden.
