Going to DC in August for a week with work. I'm looking forward to some heat and humidity!
A few years ago, I'd have chosen London for the milder winter's. These days though, I don't mind a colder winter. Particularly in a place that's sunny and has much stronger sun. Summer in DC looks fantastic. Heat, humidity and storms, but unlike further south, there appears to be some nice breaks from the heat every now and then.
As for winter, there's a lack of gloom, which is certainly welcoming. It's the first thing I'd change about the UK if I could. Then there's the varied winter weather. You can quite easily get Arctic blasts, dumpings of snow, or very easily get some mild to warm spring like days. It really is very good IMO.
DC is an excellent climate overall. Moderate cold with possibility of snow, sunshine, hot summers, high variability. Only the humidity might be a bit too much for me, but overall, it's a great place climate-wise.
Not a fan of oceanic climates at all, although London is certainly not the worst of them.
I don't know if I can call London weather in July and August summer. Although DC has awful summers (very humid), it has really nice weather in spring and autumn.

Yeah because in London in July and August there's no bird chirping, No greenery and the temperature never goes above 15c.

it's not the temperature. It's too cloudy compared to many other places outside of UK.
