Not Rozenn or France here, but this was Zugspitze (the highest point in Germany, 2962 metres) last Saturday. I'd never been to the Alps in winter before so had never experienced how blindingly bright the sun can be reflecting off the snow. At the actual summit it was about -9C and exposed to the wind so unpleasantly cold, but slightly lower down where the third picture was taken it was about -6C and sheltered, and felt oddly warm in the direct sunshine.
No snow in Garmisch though at 700 m, the lower slopes were having to use artificial snow. Can anybody explain why there would be so many little huts dotted all over the field like that?
great photos. did you visit lermoos or ehrwald?

By the way, it seems that the North is in for new snowstorms.
Here are the areas at sea level that should be involved:
Quoting this post again: this time the predictions were right, at least about my Region: it is really snowing outside! And this time the snow reached also low altitudes, even in Turin! It is the first time this winter that it is snowing also in Turin. It will not last long and it is really few snow (apart the suburban neighborhoods on the hills around the city center), but at least they can say that they have seen some lying snow this year
Folks in Paris saying it's snowed there today around noon. 3rd snow episode of the month. Not sure if any of those accumulated though.
As for pics of snow-covered mountains, here's what it looks like around 1,600 m asl at the other end of the range. Not as rugged as the Bavarian Alps. Apparently a town over the border in Italy got nearly 2 meters last weekend and again half a meter this past weekend!
This winter was so awful that I lost my interest on weather. February was of the warmest I have experienced. Fortunately March has some interesting thunderstorms till now.
