Good information, I was referring to maximum recorded temperatures rather than the averages but good to know it buddy
wow 2012 -4.9ºC as the average? curious how can some years be way above average and others way under it
Last night minimum temps in Europe... did it freeze in London?
also actual temps...
Average temperature in Novi Sad in period 1949-1985: January -1c , February 1,1c , March 5,7c , April 11,3c , May 16,5c , June 19,7c , July 21,3c , August 20,8c , September 17c , October 11,5c , November 6,1c , December 1,6c. Coldest February ever in Novi Sad was February 1956 with average temperature -9,5c(10,5c below average than the average for period 1949-1985, or 11c below average than the average 1961-1990). February 1956 is probably the coldest month ever in Novi Sad(I'm not sure for January 1893). In February 2012 the lowest temperature in Novi Sad was -28,7c. The lowest temperature ever in Novi Sad was -30,7c in January 1963. The highest temperature was 41,6c in July 2007.

Quite a swing in this month there! specially when you see that Serbia had some of the coldest anomalies across Europe during this past January.
PS: I saw its climate chart and I noticed Belgrade has to have one of my favourites climates in Europe overall.
January 2017 in Serbia was 5-7c below average. Average temperature in my city in January was -5,1c(for example in February 2012 was -4,5c). The lowest temperature in my city was -22c in 12th January. The lowest temperature in cities was in Sjenica -27c(average temperature in Sjenica was -10,3c) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sjenic...hy_and_climate , but lowest temperature was in vilage Karajukića Bunari near Sjenica -33c https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karajukića_Bunari
Todays maximum temperatures across Europe... Very warm in Albania & Cyprus...
wow! today was very close to be broken the record in that part of Albania with 27ºC, also in Novi Sad with 0.4ºC (22, record 22.4) and Belgrade with 0.9ºC (23, record 23.9)
the trees are surely starting to bud in many eastern & SE european places... look at those 19-20ºC in Romania or Bulgaria, wow (yes I know it's nothing very spectacular but still looks warm for late February)
curious how the warmest parts of Romania & Bulgaria (the Black Sea coastline) remained chilly and their interior parts meanwhile had late April temperatures. At least they compensate for the cold January!

I wish I could get as excited as easily as you do.
