And take note above... storms don't roll like that in the summer. You dont see them rounding the base of a trough like that and most of our rains come from thunderstorms, not closed lows. That's a Fall and Winter Like Pattern. Rain and 60s here in June.

Steve is based out of NJ so his focus is there but acknowledges the pattern type.

And look at the NAO forecast! Negative-Neutral we go. Trough likely in East. Polar Jet stream enhanced. So it's looking more like a rainy & cool June coming.

Or a spring pattern. It sometimes happens in the first half of June, which has a lot of spring like aspects to it. The dew point associated with rain (around 60°F) are kinda summery, or at least late spring. From what I notice with these patterns, higher dew points are associated with wet weather, so it typically will dry out a bit after the rain leaves.

I'll believe it when I see it. We have only reached 5c so far. As for England reaching 0c.. erm let me see. NO, it is possible here as its happened a few years ago.

The models 8-10 days out. Only the Canadian has a bit of a trough out east. The Euro and the GFS look pretty flat or zonal.

Not talking about the temps/DPs... Although my max is 70s now so rain and 60s during the day is chilly. But I'm talking about the Winter like pattern itself. Look at the 500mb heights.

It's a Fall/Winter type flow with the storm rounding the base. Trough digging down. Storms like that aren't common in Spring/Summer. The Jet stream should be further north by now but we are getting these troughs digging down which is allowing storms to form and come up.

In summer, but in spring? What else do we get in spring, thunderstorms are uncommon in spring.

It's happening now... Spring is March-April-May. It's now June.

Even in Springtime the Polar Jet moves north but you get the occasional amping up. Moreso in Early Spring... You don't see this amped up flow much from May onwards.

Now if temps plunged into the 20s & 30s we would be talking about chances for snow with this setup today and Tuesday.
