Room temp this morning was 70F, coolest so far this fall. We have to leave the doors closed at night because the raccoons/opossum come in, but it would be cooler if they were left open all night. 79F max during the day, 77 right now.
Don't you need a heater? I wouldn't tolerate that kind of indoor temperature. Cold weather is great outside but I always need to adjust comfort temperature inside.
The 17 degrees is with electric heat on in that room. It would be 14 like the next room with it off. The main central heating is controlled by the landlord, they still haven't turned that on yet.
Don't worry, I saw the biggest super giant cockroach in my life about a week ago... they were so fast once turn light on, immediately hide below the stove, eventually we caught them and it was so scaryyy!!!

Are you serious, do you live in apartment where they shares drain?
Share a drain? LOL no. It's a 300 year old building that used to be a hotel and was converted into apartments. It originally had a central heating system installed throughout with one main control for when the building was used as a Hotel. The system still works that way and is turned on only during November - March I think. Any other heating requires electric space heaters.
While I dislike cold, I get used to the cool temperature in here, and put more layers on.

Martin County must be a neat place to live. I doubt any raccoon would enter if my door was left open, but a constant stream of noise from the highway would.

Palmetto bugs...even more common in Florida. Creepy and annoying.
But still easier to handle than the enormous spiders in Asia.
Keep the heat set to 65 and the AC set to 80 at night. Luckily, most days we don't need either. Heat turns on most nights and early mornings from December through February but rarely during daytime hours. AC is only used during heat waves/monsoons. Even a 90 F day will cool down into the 60s at night so a wide open window is sufficient to cool the house down.
