It's fine though, since I just put a huge fan in the room. It might be more energy-efficient just to lower the AC setting, but I have a south-facing room far from the temp sensor, so it wouldn't do much...

Don't know about him, but I wouldn't mind keeping the house in the upper 40s during the winter. Not unheard of: a guy I met from MN said he did so without pipes freezing. Cooler than that would be a bit uncomfortable though. Last winter I kept it ~58F.
No. It's just how much you say summer should be hot, and then complain about warm rooms (or maybe it's humidity). I wouldn't like 80°F without a fan, either.
Definitely more about dewpoints, and rain/thunderstorms. Didn't understand that part at first.

You said in other thread you wouldn't mind 25-30F room wearing 3 layers, how would you manage drinking pure water?

Wasn't that a hypothetical situation where we were talking about living in a place with Antarctic temperatures?
Right now I'm talking about my actual house. I wouldn't want frozen pipes.
Anyways, the (hypothetical) 25F room temperature would be a bit uncomfortable but still manageable while wearing a thick sweater or a light jacket all the time. Also, drinking pure water would be easy: I would just use the opposite of a refrigerator (i.e, a small heated compartment) to store foods and liquids so they wouldn't freeze.
