Freeway noise with trucks throttling through all night. I AM NOT used to this, and its quite annoying .
My wife said the same thing about my house, that you can hear the trucks coming down the interstate about 1/2 mile away from my house, and the train tracks are close enough that you can hear the train wheels running on the rails if there's not too many trucks on the interstate. For me, I got used to the noise after a month or so, and I came from Nowheresville, PA. You'll be alright

Try using some earplugs. But like unbrainwashed said, you should get used to it over time.
Something to be truly unhappy about for the both of us, however. A major heat wave is coming, with highs in the mid 90's or higher with high humidity. Looks like Wed-Sat will be the hottest days, so let's hope all of Atlanta gets some t-storms today to help the blunt the heat for a day or two. Regardless, this will be the hottest period of the summer for us so far.
As for myself, I'll be sure to do all my errands for the week by tomorrow and I'm closing myself in the house for at least four days - when it's this hot, I just refuse to go outside for anything - especially it coming this late in the dammed summer. Ugh.
I just don't see why we're getting this nasty stuff now, when we're supposed to be cooling down. I wanna move to Upper Michigan soooo bad...
It has been a while unfortunately since I have seen blue dome skies.. we had them almost everyday in July but this August has sucked! Next week I'll be in sunny weather on holiday though
No idea when we last had blue dome skies here. July was mostly milky, hazy skies with puffy cumulus. Blue dome skies happen here mostly in winter and spring when the sun has less power to heat the land resulting in cloud buildup.
