^^ Is it weird to you (snow falls at the time of year with 50+ degree solar noon sun angle and DST on for almost a month) ?

Hmm, Don't really think much of it other than the aspect of short and long term sticking. Snow can fall with a July sun angle as long as the air and intensity supports it at the surface and above (which obviously never has that support in recent centuries. lol)

What is weird is seeing a January snowpack around 2 days to April. THAT IS SO SO WEIRD around here. Day # 66 straight. We are lucky to have small piles stick around to mid March, let alone a snowpack or big piles into April.

Or is this weird? ... Snow piles everywhere on the pavement still. 41N

And here a photo from the lake of the sources of Aoos River in the region of Ioannina at 26-03-2015. The name of the photographer is written on the photo.

Cool, that's a neat look. Looks like pine plantations here, and much easier to navigate than the bush around here.

Thanks! As nei guessed, it's Monte Rosa.

That tower in the center has just been completed and the penthouse was for sale for €300,000,000. Expensive for an apartment.

Mountains rising above the lake remind me a bit of the North Cascades above Lake Chelan. Similar latitude, different climate (definitely no palm trees), though both are dry summer climates. Lake Mountains immediately nearby Lago Maggiore appear to be about 2000 m higher than lake level, about the same as Lake Chelan. Unlike Lagg Maggiore, the mountainous side of Lake Chelan is far away from civilization, with no cell phone service or roads that connect to civilization. Only facilities are for tourists and a few second homes.
Dry summer climate? Not at all!

The Alpine lakes are too built up. It would have been nice if they had kept at least a few unbuilt areas. Not necessarily lake Chelan-like though, as lakeside towns are charming.

Lot of 'em. Typical, or a weather pattern going on?
I dunno, there wasn't that much wind, but then again I don't see them much. Strange.

That's what cell phone camera are for. Wandering around a big city with an SLR camera is a bit awkward looking.
Actually a couple of these have been taken with my phone. Lol my camera isn't a SLR, so no problem taking pics in the city. I put it in my pocket.

The joys of continental climates! I wonder why tree trunk paint is rampant in Ukraine. Is there an epidemic of some kind in eastern Europe?
