October 5, 2014 5:00AM EDT

First 30s this year = October 19, 2015 1:00AM EDT (14 days 22 hours earlier than last year) Weather History for Fayetteville, NC | Weather Underground
That was a very quick falling down 50s to 30s within only 2 days.
Current Temperature: 36°F
Lowest temperature recorded in Fayetteville Area on October 19 is 32°F back in 1931.
Yep. First 30s of the year (season) this morning here. The temp contrast between inland and coast was pretty significant this morning. Statesboro (where I am) dropped to 38 F, Savannah airport (west of downtown) dropped to 44 F, and Skidaway Island (near the immediate coast) only dropped to 54 F.
Not surprising. The ocean water is still in the 70s, so unless you have a stiff NW wind (last night's wind was from the NNE), you're not going to be having sub 50 F lows along the beaches just yet.
Very Impressive. 20s in North Carolina as well. 30s down to Gulf states & SC. 7am map will have a bit lower numbers. Will grab the actual lows later on if someone doesn't do it before me.
17° Chicopee, MA
19° Monticello NY
19° North Adams, MA
19° Bennington, VT
20° Pittsfield, MA
23° Hartford, CT (BDL)
Here are the temp departures for the hour. Pretty much 10-20 below normal in the East.
Long Island didn't even escape a freeze, though some areas only got a frost. Minimum of 33°F this morning Farmingdale, 29°F Islip. Oops, missed Infamous92's post.
BTW ... I have not been this low in October since I can remember. Most likely decades. Definitely not in mid October.
I wish it would make it to south FL
