Indeed a beautiful sunset, when I try to make a sunset/sunrise picture it looks always much more bland than in reality.

It helps to shoot in RAW and then do a few adjustments on my computer (I use iPhoto, don't have Photoshop). But you still need a good sunset to start.

You've seen the pics - who wouldn't jump at the chance to live in a place like that?

^^ Does it have as many amenities as downstate NY though?

Took a dip in the Channel a couple days ago. Water temp was 17°C (63°F). Definitely chillier than the Riviera, but the beaches up north are much better:

It's a long walk to the water. Was hazy with dew points almost touching 20°C!

Grass is green. If a spot is covered with green grass, it is a sign that you can park your car there.

Small town between Amiens and Paris:

I liked the landscaping in that particular village. No sidewalk though.

Storm cloud in the distance. Temp was around 30°C.

Green fern! No drought there?

We don't have those trees on the Riviera despite getting more rain.

Strange cloud over Paris...

Lousy tstorm approaching:

Starting to rain

Rain has ended. Trees wouldn't mind more.

He lived in Massachusetts, not New York. Or maybe I'm confused.

August 14, 2015 Update.....

Seeds directly from Italy... Cuor Di Bue Tomatoes are Heart Shaped.

Todays Harvest..

Harvest last week.

Spoiler

Well... it was a good run for the cucumbers. Here we are mid August and things are dwindling down.

It was a Very Warm & Dry May
A Normal and Wet June
A Hot and Dry July
Now we're Warm with normal rainfall in August so far

Cucumbers showing their age... Fall soon. Can't wait.

Some parts of the plants still are healthy so I may just prune and get rid of the bad stuff. Going to look thin. but you can see there are new blooms happening still. There are a couple of cukes but they are being stunted a bit.

2 kinds of Kale. Yeah.. tired of pulling weeds now with the Hot Torching Sun!

Bell Peppers did great...however....

Whats with the bottom end rotted out on the plant? Ugh! Had to drop these. No good.

Hot Peppers in pots did GREAT! Lots still left.

My favorite fruit all time... FIGS! After a brutal winter and covered very well, it suffered and had a late start. Will they have enough time to ripen to purple?

Some pics from a walk around a pond this morning a couple towns over. Thought it'd be a good hike to enjoy the rain-freshened smell of the urban woods. Temp was in the low 70's, dewpoint high 60's, but the lack of the sun's rays made it feel pretty pleasant. Especially considering this is Atlanta in August.

Nice little flower garden.

Nice view of the garden, lake, woods and what's that building over there?

It's big, it's dark, it's evil-looking...it's the secret headquarters of LutherCorp. Yep, you heard it from me first.

A big bird - some sort of heron, I think.

A large pine.

And the woods on the opposite side of the lake.
