I wonder if residents noted the continentality (sp?) of that year?
In Moscow or here? Yes well definitely we noticed, so the Russians did it probably too. Note that in Helsinki the winter was one of the snowiest of all time.
Predict when you will get your 1st frost and freeze. Here in Santa Maria I think the 1st frost will be in mid to late November and the 1st freeze will be in early December.
Frost in Santa Maria? I live in Oxnard and I could not tell you when the frost and freeze will come. Unless you are talking when will it get back down to the 60's.
Just to be conservative I am going to say that the first frost and first freeze in Indianapolis will arrive earlier in 2015 than it did last season, Probably around mid to late October, like when it usually does.
Frost: October 17
Freeze: October 29
Snow: November 16
Heaviest snow: February 4, making me miss class Feb. 4 and 5, but clearing up by Monday, Feb. 8. Just my prediction.
Coldest low here so far is 2.1C. Looking back through the last 10 years or so, we usually get our first 0C low anytime in the next two weeks.
I'm genuinely hoping for some proper cold, and at least SOME snow this winter.
I'll guess sometime around Nov. 15. We haven't had one yet so far this season.
