I don't mind imperial or metric to be honest.. but the one thing that I find completely stupid is also how Americans say the month before the day when saying the date.. seems completely daft and confusing to me..
It's an issue that made the news again recently when Democrat Lincoln Chafee announced his candidacy for the White House
The response to Lincoln Chafee's metric enthusiasm has been laughter and ridicule. Look at his poll numbers.
We have the biggest economy in the world, yet some still wish we would go metric "to please Europeans" or "to please multinational corporations". The people of this country don't want to go metric, and that's the bottom line.

It makes no sense at all, that's like me saying the time now is 12:14 (12 minutes past the 14th hour), when it's actually 14:12.

When I was in America that confused me so much.. Couldn't get my head around it.
I prefer imperial for almost everything, except some units of mass (grams make more sense). It's more traditional. I don't think the whole world should use the same systems. But it's helpful to be familiar with global ones, such as the metric system, the Gregorian calendar, etc.

Using am and pm is also stupid and takes long time to say and write the time. The 24-hours system is much better. Somehow all of these (except the date format) have come from Britain... At least the US doesn't drive on the wrong side of the road. Thank God.
Why do people think we give a flying fluck what the rest of the world does?! I don't give a damn. The rest of the world is still mooching off of us and our generous charity and aid!

Well I don't mind the metric/imperial differences but I think as a whole the world should be trying to converge with other standards, for example, plugs.
It's irritating everytime I travel there needs to be an adapter. Same for plug voltage.
