We need a blocking high in the Tasman to block cold fronts and send heat over SE Australia. Melbourne and SE Australia are missing out on extreme heat because of this ****ing anticyclonic herpoid punce dickf**kery
Going to start work on the new allotment this afternoon. We've already cleared it and dug the soil, so today's plan of action is to rake it, set up some bamboo canes and plant the fava beans, followed by garlic. In March we will plant cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, carrot, onion and globe artichoke. April - courgette/marrow and potato, then in May we will sow the runner bean and sweetcorn seeds.
The seasonal photo threads need more pictures of allotment plots and vegetables.
NWS Observations are a joke sometimes. I don't know how many times it's said "Fair" or "Partly Cloudy" and I look outside and it's 100% overcast (like right now). I don't understand how this happens so often.
Nah, I'm not complaining of it being overcast rather than NWS getting the OBS wrong. Makes me doubt whether their other observations are off too.
To be fair, the current overcast does consist of high, thin clouds. Looks wintry
