fairly rarely I believe, once every 2-3 years I suppose, JGtheone may be a better one to answer that.

Top of 11.7C on the 27th, Coldest high temp since 1996. Still plenty of time until 9am though, so that could go up.

But I'm in Hong Kong right now and I've never experienced such mugginess. I had a bottle of water at room temperature and dew was forming on it!

This month was most below normal for South-Western and Southern region, the cold wave in the early of month have a great part on this:

There are an cold air mass coming, but it will most affect western regions of Argentina,Paraguay and southeastern Bolivia, and looks like it will be caused by another low pressure in Western Argentina.

at same time looks like Southern Patagonia will finally get some cold and snow in early July, still early but looks very cold, maybe -15/-20C low for some places, this cold in Southern Patagonia may be cause by a low pressure east of Antarctic peninsula, who is "sending" cold from Antartic to there, causing an strong movement on the jet stream into Patagonia.

Conosur as much less seasonal lag than North America, so the temperatures in June and July are probably the lowest they'll see, whereas in NYC you often get the coldest tempreatres in February
