Euro12z says temps in the teens (F°) not far above our heads next weekend?
Probably wont be this cold but a cold shot might happen. And notice.. Northeast...not Midwest! What a special pattern. I feel blessed.

I know how the map works, I'm saying that many of these contributions more than likely come from those overenthusiastic about fall, excited at the sight of their first orange leaf or two. I've seen reports of moderate leaf color as early as August.

Most cold shots since February 2015 seem to have focused on the most eastern part of the nation. I have a feeling this will be the case till January, when either the central Ridge heads east and the Plains get cold as indicated by analogs. Or the ridge heads west and the cold shots start coming down into the Ohio Valley area.

Again, those reports will be filtered out if more report from that area. I have an area thats all bare here, I will reoort Gone for there but the entire county isnt so others wont report gone it wont be shown as gone.

Sometimes its about where that spot is rather than over all for the state or area. You know what I mean? Thats why it asks for the zip code or city for the report.

All this talk Im curious if you even filed one to help out?

I agree sometimes its tough to tell between moderate and peak, ect

Just filed a report as "moderate". Probably won't make up for all the "gone" reports though.

Current breakdown would be roughly:
10% green
20% turning
30% moderate
20% peaking
15% fading
5% gone

October rainfall (little to nothing at all over parts of the deep South, especially Alabama and FL panhandle)
Idk why they use blue to refer to less rain and red for more. Should be the other way around, methinks.

We barely had any rain this October while a lot last year, thanks to Hurricane Patricia.
