Not quite, NYC has more of an economic/cultural draw than LA, LA I gaurantee that half the people who live in the metro only stay because of the moderate weather
Los Angeles has arguably the best climate in the US so that's understandable. San Jose too
Apparently the forecast for my area has been updated and is now predicted to drop to exactly freezing tonight. If it happens it would be the first freeze of the season and 8 days earlier than average. I'm hoping it happens!
But obviously a majority of people (albeit not overwhelming) don't prefer cold, including myself. I came from one of those "middle" climates you love so much and I hated it, except for May to September, when it wasn't cold. Not everyone likes snow or cold. I prefer a climate that's warm to hot year round, am eventually moving to Greater Los Angeles, which has the best weather in the USA (otherwise 18 million people wouldn't live there); though Phoenix outside of summer is ideal as well
Okay? Whats that gotta do with whether a place is extreme or not? Lol. Even if I hate heat it doesn't make Texas extremely hot as if it were Baghdad. I know Texas' summers, while real hot, are not that extreme. Same with New York winters, while real cold, are not that extreme.
16 million people live in metro-Moscow... and what? LA is a big city. It happens to have mild weather but even if it didn't, it wouldn't make much a difference. NYC is not that cold either. New Yorkers are harder and tougher than Californians, though. Maybe the weather has something to do with it? lol
Big system coming for the PacNW. Lots of needed rains
Un-needed winds
Here's the setup.. HUGE dip for the Pacific there. Well below normal heights while a zonal like flow is created for the U.S bringing seasonable temps on average. Nicole in the Atlantic
Early-Mid Next week, well above normal temps for Mid Section... Wont last long...
By end of week... below normal temps. The average of all days will end up above normal. Roller coaster ride. Up & Down. This cold air pushes east and mid section maybe warms up again. Still long way out.
October cold fronts stronger than Septembers. That's why growing season is ending with each one. We saw that in New England the other day... Now for the Plains
