Of course we're not the Anglosphere and thank goodness for that! I love my language, it's far more beautiful than English anytime
Tbh, I don't consider any Germanic language to sound beautiful.

I agree. Europeans are super-lucky to have linguistic and cultural diversity in a small area.

Taking away the possible exception of Québec where I live, if I cross the bridge into Ontario 10 minutes from here I can go over 4000 km in various directions without feeling anything that for an anglo at least would feel like a linguistic or (to a large degree) cultural "shock".

Yes there is an amazing variety in geography in that range it is true, but on a human scale not so much.

How much Swedish have you listened to?

Some dialects are really ugly and a stain on this language My extended region (coastal part between Nyköping and Stockholm) is where proper-sounding Swedish is spoken and how people in the media are aspiring to sound like though.

Being a native speaker doesn't put you in a position to judge your own language. It sounds strange, but you can't really hear the "sound" of a language if you understand it.

Apparently this is what English sounds like to Italians, it reminds me of Simlish

Just to give an example, a week or two ago I was in an ice cream shop near my place. There was a line-up with several cashes open. When her spot was free the girl said in French (as is usual here) "est-ce que je peux servir la prochaine personne s'il vous plaît? (quick translation: next please). She did not repeat it in English.

Upon hearing this there was a lady in the line who started anxiously asking the people with her: what is she saying what did she say I didn't understand what she said what was it blablabla...

While to me even if she had said it in Bulgarian it would have been obvious from the context, this apparently causes anxiety in some people.

What do you actually like to do on a holiday? From what I can work out you just like to hang around hotel suites.

I would prefer to be in a city location with good transport links and loads to see.
