I'm surprised you did that; given how much you mention crime problems. I'd never do that in a big city; though I sometimes where I live. Rarely, not much effort to lock; even when I didn't have a remote I can use the lock button on the door handle.

speaking of parking in "ghetto" neighborhoods; I parked my car adjacent to a large housing project

underneath that expressway. Guy told me car should be fine overnight, but I might not be walking at night. Think he was mostly joking. A well-used bike path uses a road that goes through that project; some years back some kids threw stuff from a bridge above at the bicyclists. So the city added a fence...

Well, here maybe 5% of the violent crime is gang-related, as finding a street-gang is as hard as to find accurate climate data from LKJ1998.

Most violent crime here seems to be alcohol related. Highest concentrations of crime are around bars and clubs in the city centre.

It's 2c and I have cold rain.. When the ocean is warmer than normal this is what happens.. It's a tad annoying.

It will probably turn to snow later.

An acquaintance I have is starting to irritate me now.. She experiences no harship at all,her parents give her an aatronom budget at university. She travels backwards and forwards to America every two months. She is working in New Jersey now after just working in London last week.

If my parents were giving me that a week i'd feel guilty and want to be doing something for it.

The sad thing is that she was a down to earth, genuine person, but she has become quite snooty since her father got a high wage job (like very high).

I don't really want to bother with her as much now because she kind of looks down on people who are struggling and her lifestyle is out of my budget.

She has the potential to throw her university education down the shoots, I'm really worried about her.
