The one that really grates on me is calling HERBS "ERBS", like why? And ROUTE "ROWT", though I have heard Americans call Route 66 "ROOT" rather than "ROWT"

Because "dee-fence" is more associated with sports while "def-ence" is more associated with defending oneself.

I say "Moss-kow" and "Dahta".

Similar to AJ with the use of "dee-fence" for sports and "def-ence" for everything else.

Ina Garten is a big culprit for saying "erbs".

I say "ROOT" but I also say "ERB" lol. Mostly to differentiate between "a" and "an", saying "a JERB" instead of "an ERB" sounds weird to me lol.

Which US accent has the most similarities with UK accents? I've heard both Boston and places like Georgia, but they sound completely different to me.

In England, the accents that sound most like the US tend to be older Surrey accents.

Hmmm I would say upper class Southern accents sound the most "British" to me, especially among older folks.

New England accents (specifically the Boston one) sound a little too rough around the edges to sound "British" to my ears.

Again, my Hispanic kicking in, associating a J sound with a "ha" sound.
