Ouch! I'm sorry. I had to deal with my place being only a degree or so lower than that a few days ago. Luckily the AC situation was taken care of and now it is somewhere between 73 to 77F/23.5 to 25C, depending on the room, where I am. My bedroom stays very cool, but the computer room is quite hot, in fact, that room was close to 86F/30C a few days ago.

Edit: I also saw that it was like 100F/38C in Minneapolis that day, or lower according to other sites. If it's true then Minneapolis would have hit 100F before Houston! Actually in my area, according to Accuweather, there was not a single 100F day during 2017.

I keep my laptop in my room (using it right now) and thankfully I have a fan in here. A small one but one none the less.

Yea, we reached 100 yesterday. I was working when it happened. By the time I got off work it was 91 and stormy skies. Go figure!

I was living in Texas for 2/3 of last year's summer and July got hot! Recorded triple digits plenty of times.

78f in my bedroom if the door is kept open. Most nites it is 81 or 82. Look at that insane outside temp already at this time.

I wish I could keep my place that cool. Very nice temps.

My central AC is currently set at 84F as I’m away but
in all this heat it would running 24-7 to be much lower.

I remember being away for a week during a heat wave and burning out the AC coil.

Sounds like there’s a problem with your A/C system. It can be close to 90F here, and my central A/C has no problem keeping it 74F inside.

Yeah, this time of yr the AC will run much more to keep a home cool but pretty sure it wasn't that which burned out the coil unless it was programmed to cool down to 75 from 84? You mean capacitor?

Mine either, it does go on and off more though but that's better than it constantly staying on. Coils can freeze up like that and put wear on the motor. It's actually harder for an A/C when you keep it too high than ask for it to cool it down. It works much harder. People think they are saving more. Unless they constantly keep it at 80+ its not good to do so.
