I experienced 120+° F back when I lived in PHX in the '90's. It really was like being in a furnace/oven. You can't really stay outside for too long. Your brain feels like it's being fried and it's hard to think. After about 10 or 15 minutes, you have to run back inside to AC.

This is why I will never understand the people who use the "dry heat" argument for why deserts are comfortable.

I bet there's people who will try to argue that the 120 F in Phoenix next week is more comfortable than 80 F in NYC or Chicago, lol.

86 F with a 75 F dew point here as of 10 AM. Take it any day over 120 F with a 20 F dew point or whatever.

It's 70 and overcast with a 52 dew here. There's rumbles of thunder in the distance but no rain yet. It's supposed to get to the mid 80s today. It dropped down to 55 this morning.

Edit:

Now it's down to 67 with a 56 dew and the rain is starting to fall.

Our normal high Monday is only 40.6°C, so the forecasted 48.9°C is 8.3°C above normal, and a record high. It would be like Miami getting up to 40°C or Houston getting up to 41°C
