Let's stop spending money for defending other countries then. In a way Trump is right that the US cant be the world's police
agreed. It's not Germany's fault that the US spends so much on the military; it's our government's own choice. If the US chose to spend less, Europe might spend more if it felt it needed it, or not if it didn't.
I also suspect the US government has no desire to enact 'socialist' policies in the first place so the military spending argument is a moot point. And in reality, the US could probably afford to do both - it is far from a poor country.
United States has a ridiculous amount of money for a country of its size. I don't get why it's so behind Europe when it comes to basics like healthcare and universities. US is like a first world country that thinks it's a third world country sometimes
so you would subside stuff that is already largely subsided by the private sector and not help stuff which always need public subsides ? Do you hate history and english ?
No, but the purpose of university is to qualify people for better jobs. If there is more of an incentive to study medicine, science or engineering, then there will be a better pool of candidates to pick from.
Studying art history or women's studies contributes nothing to the economy in the long run, so should be self-funded like a hobby.
