Kinda surprised since the cold air mass is digging pretty good. Is clouds in the forecast tonight, maybe that's why too?
Not clouds. Wind. Too much mixing going on. Ral's freeze was most likely advective in nature and not radiational, so his growing season is truly over early this year.

Just wait till after sunset, then again, you'll be too far from the strongest winds but you should get some nice downpours and some decent gusts overnight..

Look at those 30s in Tennessee. We haven't had afternoons that cold yet. Even here it would be unusual to have 30s during the day this time of the year, let alone in Tennessee.
