Bastardi always predicts cold in the east. Alot of the time he’s more of a wishcaster than a forecaster.
True he wishes cold in the east where he lives (as I do in here) for the winter, but its not like he isn't using information from models and general patterns like the possibility of an oncoming Modoki El Nino to determine his forecasts.
He's been counting on the JMA and the Euro to be correct for the winter though. The CFSv2 has been consistently showing an absolute blow torch
The Canadian show a bit more of a Modoki pattern but really only for December... not much for the rest of winter.
NMME is also warmer then average but not a blow torch
This just reaffirms my fears that the winter of 2018-2019 just might be the coldest and/or the driest winter season on modern record in the plains and Midwest.

November-February I am fine with. After February start being Spring like for once. lol
I know now has nothing to do with future but if any indication of what I'm seeing happening now is a sign of whats to come, I think I'll need more firewood.
I just wish everyone would get above normal snows. It's really only where the storms go. There isn't a storm every day or even every week for that matter so its hard for everyone to get involved. You know? Sucks one region has to benefit but another miss out.
Sometimes I wish there was a storm the size of the U.S and it was snowing in all locations.
