Temps now warming rapidly with the strong southwest, downsloping winds, almost like the Santa Anas in SoCal, but humid. 70s and maybe 80s in spots! Current forecast has 77º for me on the North Shore, I'm near LGA. NYC could definitely shoot for 80s. Even spots on the Jersey Shore are in the 80s. Likely daily records today! Next week is chilly (March 29-April 2 only really), then back to spring warmth in the longer range.
Update: Up to 81now! First 80s since October, and first 80s in March since 2012, along with a record for the day all across the metro area! Humidity has dropped significantly with the dry downslope winds, RH of just 28% now. Loving this weather!
Also at 81F in Bensalem PA! With some insane winds that pushed my garbage can toter down the street about 50 feet. So we officially had our first 60F of the year, our first 70F of the year, and our first 80F of the year all in March
Aside from the winds gusting over 50mph it feels like summer out there in the 70s and 80s. 1st time in the 80s in NYC since September 10th. Danbury, CT as well.
NYC: 25ºC (77F)
Phoenix: 17ºC (63F)
Death Valley: 23ºC (73F)
Were you looking at the Manhattan OBS? At the time you posted that NYC was at 81° (central park)

80° with no shade feels weird. Not something we get often. This warmth will kick in some budding into high gear now. Might be early bloom season.
